Wildcard without matching sub-subdomain not supported?

The wildcard syntax doesn't seem to let me match for *.example.org without also matching *.*.example.org.

I've tried:

• [a-z]*.example.com -> also matches *.*example.com
• [a-z]+.example.com, doesn't work
• ([a-z]*).example.com, doesn't work

Is there something that I'm missing here or is this simply not supported?

The issue I'm running into is that I want to use the wildcard for my search domain. Which would be fine, if my webbrowser didn't resolve google.com to google.com.example.com in case the first one times out.

You're right. No full RegEx.
