Integration with OpenGL

OpenCL have integration with OpenGL. It would be nice to export it (basing on Haskell opengl bindings) as well.

In the future is something to check. I'll like to have it working with current OpenGL package.

I added this in my development branch last week. I can open a pull request if others are interested.

It seems that clEnqueueAcquireGLObjects/clEnqueueReleaseGLObjects is missing or am I missed something?

@uzytkownik They are indeed still missing. I haven't opened the pull request yet as I was going to let the code breathe a bit on my systems to make sure it's working correctly, and because the implementation is still incomplete. My early work indicates that what I have so far is fine, so if you want to add the Enqueue functions we can try to organize the various patches for @zhensydow.

I'll glad to merge it into my repository. @acowley, when you have prepared, merge it on develop branch. I think it'll be a great feature to have.

Has there been any action on this? I need to be able to work back and forth with OpenGL and this is a blocker for distribution for me.

That was enough to get my efforts off the ground, though it is incomplete. I can put my bit of FFI glue for context sharing on OS X up somewhere if it would be helpful, but I haven't tackled Windows or Linux.

@acowley: Yeah, I've seen that. Its just that got merged into the develop branch, and from @zhensydow's comment above, I seem to be stuck in limbo for however long the release cycle is.

I can continue development off of a branch like that, but its awkward to expect folks I'm working with to do so, and its a barrier to me posting code up on hackage.

As for extra glue, I'm working on OSX myself, so any insight is appreciated. =)

@ekmett, I'm glad to accept any new feature and I'll up new releases to hackage. Only, I can implement this OpenCL OpenGL integration myself for the moment.

Also, I can test on Linux.

@ekmett Here is a gist of the code I'm using on OS X. https://gist.github.com/2172819 It uses my CLUtil library in a very minor way. While I encourage you to use that library, removing that dependency from this little snippet would be a minimal change. I should probably push CLUtil to hackage, and will do so if you're interested in using it.

@zhensydow Maybe you could merge develop into master and push to hackage to include my recent OpenGL-related patches? I understand that the feature isn't fully baked yet, but perhaps this small step can make it easier for others to use and contribute.
