record_test example not working on t-embed cc1101 (new thread since cant reopen old one)

I am trying to record from mic using the example "record_test" at:
https://github.com/Xinyuan-LilyGO/T-Embed-CC1101/tree/master/examples/record_test

however, nothing is being recorded (no files on the SD after 15 seconds, even after 30 seconds)

What I see on serial console is:
SD Card Type: SDHC
SD Card Size: 30250MB
Starting recording for 15 seconds!
Opening File
SD Card Type: SDHC
SD Card Size: 30250MB
Starting recording for 15 seconds!
Opening File

It never says "Recording done!" or "File written on SDCard"

I tried with 2 different SD cards. FAT32 formatted.

So what's wrong ?

I doubted about my SD cards or the SD card slot in general.
So I made changes to the code and used SPIFFS instead of SD
However, even on SPIFFS I got the same result.
The file is not written.

what should I do ?

i2s anomalies are usually caused by the receiving link not obtaining data correctly. First, check if the hardware is normal. You can download the factory firmware and then enter the music interface. At this time, the microphone detects that the led in the upper right corner of the device interface will flash, which indicates that the microphone is normal and can detect sound.

I tried this. Mic seems to work with factory firmware. On the music interface blue dot on right upper corner blinks when there is noise.

why can't we develop using the microphone of this device ?
