Wrong led colors for dark image contents

Hello to each other,

I have the problem that in dark scenes the LEDs sometimes show wrong or too strong colors.

The colors are then green or navy blue.
If I increase the gamma values to 2.5 the problem is gone but the LEDs become too dark.

The image in the grabber is displayed correctly.

I use a Pi 4, EZCAP 320 and have the SK6812 RGBW in use. The HyperHDR version is 18.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you use dedicated LUT for Ezcap 320? The test shows there are some problems with colors because the manufacturer modified the output stream which artificially improve SDR feelings but the video source becomes distorted when it receives HDR stream and some quality is lost even if we try to repair it. Take a look here: https://www.hyperhdr.eu/2022/04/usb-grabbers-hdr-to-sdr-quality-test.html#chapter36 You can also try to use dedicated LUT table for Ezcap 320 from v16 release section (alternative approach, created without using LUT calibration).

Not enough details, if your automatic calibration gone wrong (because you missed described requirements or you interrupt it) you have left with a temporary LUT table that can't be used for LUT tone mapping. Logs, logs, logs there is everything in the logs. Do the calibration again.

Your calibration is stuck and the LUT table is not for use as it states. Probably HyperHDR can't capture a test board mosaic (you should see it in the live preview) so it stops here. Please make sure you follow each point from the list: it's very important. This topic may help you #329

I can only tell that the calibration didn't improve the quality for SDR in your case. But some information is missing like results for YUV coefs and real captured color values in that cut off log, so don't know what we are dealing with. I'm not sure the role of the Denon amplifier that probably affects the video content: do you use Denon HDMI pass-through or HDMI scaler is maybe enabled?
