Does anyone have a test flow/script?

I'm working on a couple of small PRs that I want to test with a full run of the Omarchy installation script. Does anyone have a good testing workflow or do you just spin up a new VBOX setup of naked Arch and run it there?

DDH uses Proxmox VMs to test. I use VirtualBox VMs.

Ok so I figured out a flow myself, not sure if it's the best one though:

1. Fork omarchy repo
2. Make changes
3. Commit & push to own repo
4. Run OMARCHY_REPO="your-username/your-repo" ./boot.sh in a VM

Since I was changing the login.sh file I just copied part of it to a new .sh file and used that to test that piece of code until it was working then copied it back into login.sh and committed that

Somehow virtualbox was unstable for me and virt-manager was giving issues with iptable rules due to Docker I think (ping 1.1.1.1 worked, dig google.com worked, dig @1.1.1.1 google.com dit not work and omarchy installer could not reach the internet) but I managed to fix it. It was a FORWARD rule.

Are you using another Omarchy machine as host? I'm having trouble launching an Omarchy guest inside an Omarchy host with VirtualBox. Fullscreen crashes the machine, the keybinds launch the programs in my host machine and not in the guest one, everthing feels really slow even though I assigned max vram and 8gb of ram to the guest... I managed to test my changes using the mouse and a lot of patience but this is not super convenient. I think I'm missing something with the graphics controller.

Could you share your vbox config please?

Yeah I had omarchy on the host and a pretty clean arch vm to start with.

Like I said Vbox was crashing badly with kernel panics etc so I didn't proceed with that any further. I've always had better results with virt-manager tbh, maybe give that a shot? It should be pretty straight foward
