Question about default map tiles

I was attempting to use offline map data, however, for the life of me I can't seem to find where to change the default urls for map layers for the goatak server.

I thought it'd be here,

But I changed and rebuilt and it seems to still have the old default ones.

You don't need to rebuild server, just restart. On client connection, server is looking for map files in data/maps folder near the server binary - so you just need to edit map file (or put a new one) there.

I thought that was the case but I made new entries and also changed the existing ones as a test and I swear nothing new popped up or changed. I couldn’t understand why. I’ll try again.

Sorry I posted in both places. I'll go try again, for example.. I add this to a file within the /data/maps directory.

http://localhost:8085/ - you phone will try to fetch tiles from itself.

Oh I see now, I was trying to have maps hosted by the server side computer that would load. Is that possible?

I guess I'd have to know exactly what the IP address if of the host which could change depending on how the phone or person is getting to the server (what connection interface and IP etc.).

usually your server has only one network interface. If f.e. you have two (network card and vpn) - you can use two map xml files with different names and ip addresses in url.

okay I see now, so it's really the client loading the maps from the host server. I'll try this.

I must still be doing something wrong. I built the latest offical goATaK server. Added another map file, but when server is then loaded there’s still the same 4 default entries. I even tried to delete the Google one just to see if it would disappear from the options. It’s still there after restarting.

what is your atak client version?

I’m not using a client, just the server. Meaning like I use my web browser on a laptop, connect to the IP of the server, login with admin/admin and click on map. In the upper right corner I was clicking the drop down hoping to change the available map options.

For some strange reason, it’s always the same four options no matter what I do to /data/maps.

When you browse to the goatak server with a web browser, do you find that the modifications you make to data/map/* reflect? Or do the same four options remain? I can't understand where they are coming from if not from the data/map files.
