trouble editing titles

I have read through these pages and everything I can find online and just cannot seem to get this to work. I am trying to solve for the following use case:
I edit the name of a game in gamelist and the next time I run the scraper it changes the name back. I tried making changes to the Priority file. Edits to the config.ini file.
It seems to me this must come up often and someone would have solved for it by now. If that is the case please provide step by step instructions and I will be so grateful.
