Bangle.js 2 tapping broken and weird background padding

Hi everyone,

I have a set of issues and with my smartwatch and has become unusable.

First I noticed this blue-ish padding on the background that I did not notice before:

Then I noticed that tapping does not work ok any more. Scroll down works, but up is very slow and laggy, taps sometimes work, but mostly not and tapping on the back button (top-left corner) does not work at all:

I've upgraded to the latest firmware 2v27 and reset it to factory settings.

Anyone else encountered anything like this? Any ideas what to try next to recover from this state?

To me, that looks like water damage... Has the watch been in rain, shower, or any other source of water before this?

especially when you're showering the soap will slowly dissolve the grease that's in the button hole, and once that's gone it's much easier for water to get inside.

is there a reason for grease? I use a drop of elastic waterproof sealing putty, the one we put on rooftops, when I open up my watches. I can go swimming with the P8. It didn't had any grease in it though. Can you ask them if you get the chance, why grease?

I think it's just to lubricate the rubber o-ring that's in there, but also if there is any small gap in there anywhere it'll fill it. It probably also helps to repel water, which otherwise might attempt to 'wick' up the button hole and into the watch.

thanks, it makes sense, I didn't notice it on the p8/magic/rock, but maybe I did't look for it. If you have a watch you can experiment with, can you try putting some elastic waterproofing glue/putty on the button? Just a small drop, so that the case maks a membrane around the button. Wait for it to dry, and then assemble back, the membrane will be elastic enough so that the button will still work, but it will be waterproof, even if the button is pressed underwater.

So you mean to apply the glue inside the watch case, to the rear side of the button? I can't really imagine it - I don't suppose you've got pictures and/or a link to the glue?

yes, I meant from the inside, in order to cover the button mechanism in glue. It will still work. I use a make of glue that I think is Greece only, logo silic.

this thead has a picture of it, but not clear. The area of the button is covered with logo silic. I do not have a watch open now, but next time I open one up, I will take a better one.

I think what some people have said is that it clears up within some time, but it really depends on what exactly is in there.
For the problems with the touchscreen, I doubt this will fix anything, but maybe try calibrating the lcd, to see if it is a missed touch, or a fault with the screen.
