Pangeo Showcase talk on climpred?

The Pangeo Showcase talks are 15-20 minute presentations at the beginning of the Pangeo weekly meeting, a nice way to interact with some of the Pangeo community members and also get a recording with a DOI! I think it would be great to have a talk about climpred functionality and plans for the future.

Would anybody in the climpred community be interested in presenting such a talk?

Thanks for the invite. I'm afraid there is nobody left in academia from the core developers but if someone is interested they are encouraged to pick it up

Okay, thanks @aaronspring -- would it be appropriate to mention on the pangeo call today that the project is looking for help?

yes - please mention that there is currently no maintainer for this project and we welcome new people. I just try to keep it compatible to xarray from time to time.

Interesting. It looks like this project might be dead in the near future - if not already. Is there any future for climpred?

climpred being dead is a bold statement. I ran in the past and present and will always run with these requirements/versions. It might not run in a future with large upstream api changes.

Understood. As IT changes, it may not be a good idea to incorporate Climpred into a modern system. Thanks for the clarifications.

Depends on your expectations and what you mean by modern system. The dependencies have been kept minimal with optional installs for additional feature. For the past year there were no new features but one or two PRs bumping versions/aligning with xarray. CI is running regularly.
