Let''s update the license and add a code of conduct.

py5 uses GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 because py5 depends on Processing core, which also uses LGPL. I do think that being consistent with Processing is important because of the dependency.

LGPL probably isn't the right choice for this plugin but perhaps GPL is?

For the code of conduct, we can use the same one that py5 has or update it. Let's have the same code of conduct for all of the repos in py5coding.

Maybe we should keep it the way the author intended, or another "permissive" license as CC0, or use the same as py5 (LGPL2.1).

I would prefer GPL over LGPL so people want to modify or fork it, what they create also needs to be open source. With LGPL, that isn't the case. With py5 folks should be allowed to keep what they make private, just as they should be allowed to keep their Processing creations private. That isn't the case for the PDE though, and I don't think that should be the case for this plugin.

Wouldn't GPL w/o the "L" be exactly the same?

AFAIK, as long as we don't modify py5 itself, whatever code we make using it is fully independent, right?

Also, this is an addon for the MIT-licensed text editor Thonny!

Maybe the best license should be MIT after all, so it can be more easily distributed along Thonny under the same license.

Currently Thonny's site lists 14 plugins: https://Thonny.org

I've checked them all and almost all of them uses MIT, with these 3 exceptions:

1. thonny-gitonic: AGPLv3+
2. thonny-edison: GPL2
3. thonny-py5mode: WTFPL

And those three projects haven't had a release in years. Let's go with MIT then.

We can copy py5's code of conduct into this one so they are the same.

For some strange reason, my own installed thonny-py5mode is "0.4.7-alpha" on the "About" option.

But this repo's latest version is still "0.4.6-a0".

However, I had to apply a fix for the "About" feature, which is already fixed on "0.4.6-a0", but unfixed on "0.4.7-alpha"!

I just added a code of conduct and updated the license to MIT with PR #72 .

I had to add something for the copyright in the license. Is what I have there the correct way to do this?
