How to specify number of timesteps or number of points at which evaluation happens

I'm trying to run a SPMe model in pybamm and wanted more granularity in the number of points that are being generated, especially during the rest phases right after a charge or discharge. Is there a way to do this?

For context, this is the code I tried to set a maximum timestep and it didn't work:

solver = pybamm.CasadiSolver(dt_max=1)
    sim_1 = pybamm.Simulation(model_SPMe_1, solver=solver, experiment=custom_experiment,parameter_values=parameters_1, var_pts=var_pts_1)
    sim_1.solve()

Any way to do this or workarounds that don't involve interpolation? @valentinsulzer @rtimms Specifying dt_max in pybamm.CasadiSolver() does nothing for some reason.
