Yes, it's a political answer but the message is clear.

The board voted unanimously to post the following statement on the FSF website:

That basically says it's the boards message that was anticipated, not a daily aphorism. Cancellers expected the board to fire RMS.

the FSF board unanimously condemns misogyny, racism,and other bigotry

that's the part haters and cancellers accuse RMS of.

as well as defamation, intimidation, and unfair attacks on free thought and speech.

that's the crucial part. It's a direct message to cancellers and also bullies like IBM/Red Hat.

The best part is the board "unanimously" said their opinion and the board includes RMS at the time. FSF goes the right direction thanks to the board of directors and good free software users like you.
