there is a led-bar at the front of the case.
research how to control it..

in the asus-wmi.c there is a check for lightbar.

so it seems it could work if the device is identified as such...
seems this is missing at some other part.. ?!

no i have not done any research on this topic.
i think the easiest way would be to first check and reverse engineer what the asus tool does under windows -
(at least i think it is the asus tool...)

if you have a device that you can open you could also try to find how the led bar is connected hardware wise...
(or find videos of others that have opened there)
maybe its also possible to find the controller on the usb bus -
i personally think it is more likely that it is an i2c device...
it could also be an sub-element of the keyboard or touch-pad hardware...

on a fast look i only found some disassembly videos
but they are not helpful - (not detailed enough.)
if i have to replace my battery myself (could be in some weeks) then i can make some highres pictures and analyses of the led-bar in the front....

There's an asus support page describing the change in colour of the led bar before and after version 2.0.19.0 of ASUS System Control Interface Driver. So it's likely that the controls the led bar.

yeah that sounds very promising..

i will get my new battery pack in some days -
and when iam exchanging it i will do some reverse enginieering on the hw.
in the online shop i also orderd the battery you can find at least also the LED-Modul.
(without any additional infos... of course)
at least that shows that my guess from the video was correct that it is the small flex-connector going to the front...
so as fare as i can see it goes directly to the mainboard. not to the keyboard controller or the touchpad controller..

Checking Windows Driver database, I find that it is a driver for "System Control Interface V2(Driver)".
ASUS's website shows that this software is used for varied system controls.

back then i had no time to investigate more / make measurements :-(
sorry - and currently (freshly backed father) my priorities are also somewhere else ;-)
i did take some pictures and just searched them:

sticker on cable Alexa
label on main board lightbar

on the module back there is some notes about the version - but nothing really relevant for control.
i think it uses something similar to this I2C RGB LED driver...

i think so.
so if anybody wants to analyze the software in the driver it would also be possible to find the I2C device address in there..
the beauty of i2c here is that every chip type has a (more ore less) unique address - at least if they are on the same bus...
so with this it should be relative easy to find the device in the system.

In the photos above, you have a photo of the lightbar specification. Do you have a photo showing clearly the part number or any other device references for the lightbar?
