Would audio recording work when iPhone is locked for 5 mins? (eg. in the background)

I've built an expo iOS app with expo-av. But recording stops when app is in background or phone is locked for 1 min. So considering a switch. I read there's background recording ability with this repo. Can you please confirm? :)

Yes, there is two steps to make it possible:

• Enable Audio background mode through XCode, app.json (using "UIBackgroundModes": ["audio"],) or through react-native-audio-api expo plugin
• in app use AudioManager.setAudioSessionOptions to set recording or recording and playback category and activate the session with AudioManager.setAudioSessionActivity when starting to record
