Support for Public Cloud

Question - when using this tool for public clouds, I get the following Auth Error:
AADSTS900382: Confidential Client is not supported in Cross Cloud.

Unless I'm doing something wrong here, it does not look like this tool can be used to access the keyvault in a public cloud. Any idea if that's on any roadmap or if it is something that can be supported?
