I'm guessing you need those for AmazonSNS or AmazonSQS. Auto configured version of those instances don't support it yet. However those can be configured using the application.[properties|yml]. The key prefix that this app uses is aws.spring. Feel free to open a PR.
The implementation should be straight forward. Look at the classes AwsProperties and AmazonSQSAutoConfigure or AmazonSNSAutoConfigure

If there are multiple places with this operation,
So how do I tentatively determine the current upload?

If I understand correctly, you need to pause / cancel upload of files to S3. This is supported using TransferManager which you can construct using an S3 Client.
