What is the BUR?

Check the BUR's repo here.

In short: it's the Bedrock Linux equivalent of the AUR - a place where users can publish and share fetch scripts or other utilities, even if it was not officially accepted by paradigm.

How do I install pmmm?

There are 2 methods, using brl fetch or installing from source. You must have git installed for both of these methods.

  • Use brl fetch if a normal user or BUR developer
  • Use installing from source if you are making edits to pmmm itself

Method 1: brl fetch

Download the pmmm file from https://github.com/TheOddCell/bur/blob/main/fetch/pmmm/pmmm and place it in /bedrock/share/brl-fetch/distros, then run brl fetch pmmm as root.

You may also use your desired BUR helper to install pmmm with the package fetch/pmmm.

Method 2: Installing from source.

Run the following commands as root:

mkdir /bedrock/strata/pmmm
git clone https://github.com/TheOddCell/pmmm.git /bedrock/strata/pmmm
# you may also copy the files you have done your stuff to to this directory instead of git cloning to it
brl show pmmm
brl enable pmmm
git submodule update --remote --merge

Removal

To remove pmmm, run the command brl remove -d pmmm. This will remove all scripts and binaries and not cleanly remove any fetch scripts. Please be sure to remove any installed packages before doing this.

Extending pmmm

To add a new pmmm command, you must create a script/binary named pmmm-[command] where [command] is whatever command it is. For example, to create the command pmmm foo make a file named pmmm-foo or compile a file and name it pmmm-foo. The second argument (bar in pmm foo bar) will be passed in as the first argument in the script.

If you would like to publish this extention, you can put it into the BUR. (info) It must be published as an regular script or binary, with the diffrence being it will be named pmmm-[command]. The actual name of the package itself must also be the same name as the script/binary, with the exception being if it is a companion to another script/binary (say we have a command named foo and we have pmm-foo as an wrapper) or is in a group with multiple extentions.
