We spoke briefly elsewhere about the cause for the error, and I've added some info to the error in 22b90e1 that should help make it clear that there is an unused route param that for safety we currently discard.

The options are to:

1. add an argument to the action for it.
2. add a new option to routes like ignore_route_params
