1. Introduction
The disciplined practice of being aware of one’s overall financial status at all time is a vital element to achieving personal financial success. The act of being vigilant about one’s monthly earning and spending also reflects a respectable virtue - the ability to be knowledgeable about the presence and insightful towards the future. One way to learn about one’s current overall financial state is by analyzing monthly bills and financial statements. However, It is a challenge to maintain a clean, organized and effective filing system for the purpose of gaining meaningful insights. Moreover, the manual process of categorizing, summarizing, filing, and keeping of bills and (bank) statements are, mostly tedious.
To enable individuals (as well as small business owners) to:

from monthly bills and statements so that individuals can better make informed decisions on monthly spendings and investments -
Save time
by automating the categorization process of filing bills/statements.
The project chiefly targets healthy working and young adults
age between 18 - 65
who are responsible for managing monthly earnings and spendings.
It is possible to extend the scope to visually impaired individuals using screen reader devices by providing web accessibility enhancements.
It is possible to automate the process of categorizing and summarizing bank statements and bills in PDF/image format by utilizing current optical image processing technologies, namely opencv and opencr
- Brainstorm possible use case scenarios, target audience and user profile
- Interview product owner, a professor from National University of Singapore to gain deeper understanding of current situation and problem statement
- Research and Analyse implementation of existing products/services to solving similar problem
