This draft PR will track the progress of temporarily moving/retiring Spacebar-related API code in favor of getting a polyproto and polyproto-chat implementation up and running.
Working on a practical implementation of the still unfinished polyproto-chat protocol allows me to observe closely how ideas work out in practice, and to then use that knowledge to refine and improve the polyproto and polyproto-chat protocols.
Eventually, I'd like to map the spacebar compatibility layer on top of the existing polyproto and polyproto-chat data layers.
