Project Abstract

Over 260 million Americans regularly use over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. While these products are easily accessible and trusted, many people take multiple OTC drugs for different symptoms—without realizing that they often contain the same active ingredients. This overlap can lead to accidental overdoses, especially when consumers don’t pay close attention to the fine print on the label.

The “Drug Facts” label, where important ingredient and dosage information is listed, is often overlooked. It’s written in small text, full of medical jargon, and hard to navigate for everyday users.

This project uses a scroll-based interactive web experience to raise awareness about the hidden risks of OTC combinations. Through engaging visuals and simple interactions, it helps users recognize shared ingredients across different products, understand safe dosage limits, and make smarter choices when self-medicating.

By visualizing what’s usually hidden or ignored, the goal is to make invisible risks visible—and help people stay safe with the medicines they already trust.
