Dark mode for docs #1247

Feature Request
There already seem to be some issues related to a dark mode (e.g. #652) but no actual dark mode for docs. A dark mode is really helpful in low light environments. Even more, if the operating system already uses a dark mode.
It would be really nice…
- if docs could get a dark/light mode selector next to the language selector
- if there are three modes “light”, “dark”, “auto”
- If “auto” is the default, and it just detects the system mode
